Math /Language Arts Resources

I really like this series for literature in math. There are topics for just about every math concept. My students love them and will read them over and over. Most of them connect with real world experiences. I buy the level 3 but you can find level 1 and 2 . Amazon is my main source as they have all the titles in the series.

I have found some really good tips in these next resources. The Morning Meeting book has tons of ideas to enhance meeting time. My students and I adore morning and afternoon meeting time. What a great way to bond with each other. The school rules is a good resource for new teachers, but also gives a refresher for experienced teachers as well.

Our focus at my school last year and this year has been on Literacy. We are doing the CAFE and Daily 5 , which I love - more on that in another post. Here are some resources you might enjoy for spicing up your literacy block.

School supply heaven

If you are a teacher I know you go ape over school supplies! Here are a few of my finds this week.
These are from Target - their dollar spot.

And here is the stash from Staples. Get on out there before they get picked over! Everybody has great deals.

Before

I went by my school the other day to drop off some school supplies and this is what I saw going on outside my classroom!
And this

And this!

Yes, it is a muddy mess! They are putting in new sidewalks and it has rained just about everyday. It will look great when finished but I am still sad that they cut down several beautiful crepe myrtle trees outside my door. No more shade or place to feed the birds.
Then I went into my classroom. They just finished cleaning the carpet and boy howdy do I have a lot of work to do. I'll post after pictures, I promise!

Great finds

The Mailbox has got to be one of the best companies out there! I have been using their stuff for decades. Here are some of their new items I just bought.
These non fiction mini books are already laminated. All you have to do is tear them out and use!
I got 2 levels as I know I will have some higher readers.
They also have these great Math booklets too. I think I will use them in centers , for homework, or early finishers.
Ok, I also could not resist these Math resources.
And how about these Language Arts as well.

Vacation at Last

Thank goodness it is finally here! I have been counting down the days until we go to the beach. This is what I get to wake up to each morning! This fabulous sunrise over the South Carolina coast is a great way to start the day.
